American Communications

American Communications Services, Inc. (ACSI) was a leading facility-based integrated communications provider to businesses. The company-owned and operated digital fiber-optic networks, and offered a variety of telecommunications services to other communications providers and businesses, government, and consumer end-users in selected target marketed principally in the southern and eastern United States. The company was headquartered in Annapolis Junction, Maryland and later in Herndon, Virginia. After a successful IPO was underwritten by Goldman Sachs, the company’s name changed to e.spire and the common stock was traded on the NASDAQ as ESPI.
